In fact, though we might all like to think of ourselves as the next Shakespeare, inspiration alone is not the key to successful essay writing. You see, the conventions of English essays are more formulaic than you may think -- and, in many ways, it's often as simple as counting to 5.

The Introduction

The principle aim of this introduction would be to present your position (that can also be called the"thesis" or"debate") concerning the matter at hand but powerful introductory paragraphs are a great deal more than that. Before you get for this thesis statement, for example, the essay should begin with a"hook" that catches the reader's attention and makes them want to read on.

Only then, with the reader's attention"hooked," if you move to the thesis.

Ultimately, designing the previous sentence in this manner has the extra plus of transferring the reader into the very first paragraph of the body of the paper. In this manner we can realize that the easy introduction does not have to be far greater than just three or four paragraphs in length. If yours is more you may want to consider editing it down just a bit!

Here, by Means of example, is an introductory paragraph to an article in response to the next question:

"Can we learn more out of figuring out that we have made mistakes or from our actions that are successful?"
